About This Site
Premium Dog Treats Hub is written by one dog owner who spends more on the treat jar than he probably should. We review long-lasting chews like bully sticks, yak cheese chews and elk antlers, daily dental treats, and soft training treats, all tested on a real heavy chewer over months rather than days. We tell you what lasted, what upset a stomach, and what was not worth the price.

Chew and Treat Safety
Always supervise your dog with any chew. Take a bully stick, yak chew or other edible chew away once it gets small enough to swallow whole, usually around two inches for a large dog, because a swallowed end can cause choking or a blockage.
Hard chews such as antlers can chip or fracture teeth, especially in aggressive chewers. Pick a size larger than your dog's mouth, check the chew regularly for sharp edges or splinters, and stop if you see bleeding gums or your dog favoring one side of the mouth.
Treats add calories. Most vets suggest treats make up no more than about 10 percent of a dog's daily calories, and dental chews count toward that. Introduce any new chew or treat slowly, watch for vomiting, diarrhea or itching, and check ingredients if your dog has food allergies.
Dental treats support, but do not replace, brushing and professional cleanings. Nothing on this site is veterinary advice. Talk to your veterinarian before changing your dog's diet, and contact them right away if your dog swallows a large piece of a chew or seems to be in distress.
